Navigating your workspace.

The dashboard is where you see what your AI did and approve what needs you.

Your workspace is your organization's compliance space in Kanonik. The first thing to understand is what the dashboard is for, because it is not where you do the work. Your own AI does the work, in the client you already use, connected to Kanonik. The dashboard is where you see what your AI did and approve what needs you. You will rarely type a compliance detail into a form here; you ask your AI, review what it proposes, and approve.

With that in mind, here is the left-hand menu, top to bottom.

Needs you

Your approval queue. When your AI proposes a change (a policy, a control, a mapping, an applicability decision), it does not take effect until you approve it. Those proposals land here, each with a one-click approval. This is the page you will live in day to day: review the proposed change, approve it, and it is recorded. If you connected your AI and asked it to draft something, this is where the result waits for you.

Workspace

Your program as a connected model. Compliance is a web, not a list: assets and vendors carry risks, controls treat those risks and implement your policies, and everything maps to the requirements of your framework. This view shows that model, the things in scope and how they relate, so you can see the shape of your program rather than a flat pile of items. Your AI builds and refines it; you review and approve the changes through "Needs you."

Applicability

Where you stand against the framework. For every requirement, this shows whether it is applicable to you, the justification, the controls mapped to it, and its implementation status. The requirements with no decision or no covering control are your gaps, highlighted so you can see what is left to do. This is the Statement of Applicability an auditor opens first, kept current from your record.

Audit log

The proof. Every decision, approval, and change is recorded here on a permanent, tamper-evident timeline: who proposed what, the safety-check verdict, who approved it, and when. Nothing is ever quietly edited or removed. When an auditor asks how a decision was made, the answer is here, and you can export the whole record in one action.

Settings

Your workspace configuration: organization details, your framework scope, your approval preferences, and similar setup. This is the one place with form-style inputs, and only for configuring the workspace itself, never for editing your controls, policies, or risks. Those always change through your AI and the approval gate.

Connect your AI / Try a starter prompt

Where you wire your AI client to Kanonik, and a short list of starter prompts you can paste in to get going. You will use these once at the start; after that, the work happens in your AI client and shows up under "Needs you."

If you work across more than one workspace

Consultants and anyone managing more than one organization can belong to several workspaces. The header always names the workspace you are currently in, and lets you switch. The name is shown on every screen on purpose, so you always know which organization a change will land in before you approve it.

The one habit that matters

You do not edit compliance objects in the dashboard. To change something, you ask your AI, it proposes the change, the safety check runs, and you approve it under "Needs you." The dashboard is your view of what happened and your gate on what happens next. That is the whole rhythm.
